Implementation Science
Publishes research relevant to the scientific study of methods to promote the uptake of research findings into routine healthcare in clinical, organisational or policy contexts. As well as hosting papers describing the effectiveness of implementation interventions, Implementation Science provides a unique home for articles describing intervention development, evaluations of the process by which effects are achieved, economic evaluations of implementation, and the role of theory relevant to implementation research.
The journal is also interested in publishing articles that present novel methods (particularly those that have a theoretical basis) for studying implementation processes and interventions and articles that address methodologically robust study of the de-implementation of ineffective clinical and organisational practices.

Global Health Action
This international peer-reviewed journal is affiliated with the Umeå Centre for Global Health Research (UCGHR) at Umeå University, Sweden. The aim of the journal is to contribute to fuelling a more concrete, hands-on approach to addressing global health challenges. Manuscripts suggesting strategies for practical interventions where none already exist are specifically welcomed. Further, the journal encourages articles from low- and middle-income countries, while also welcoming South-South and South-North collaborations. All articles are expected to address a global agenda and include a strong implementation or policy component.

PLOS Medicine also seeks to publish articles in the area of translational medicine that provide substantial, novel mechanistic insights into disease processes, with potential implications for clinical care. Additionally PLOS Medicine considers articles on topics relating to the integrity and ethics of the research enterprise; the practice of medicine; and the application of research to practice to fall within its scope.

Publishes high-quality original research, commentary, correspondence, and blogs on a subscription-free (open access) basis. All health-related subjects are considered: our focus is on disadvantaged populations, be they whole economic regions or marginalised groups within otherwise prosperous nations. Covers all aspects concerning the information, planning, production, management and governance of human resources for health - particularly those of international relevance.
Human Resources for Health aims to disseminate research on health workforce policy, the health labour market, health workforce practice, development of knowledge tools and implementation mechanisms nationally and internationally; as well as specific features of the health workforce, such as the impact of management of health workers' performance and its link with health outcomes. The journal encourages debate on health sector reforms and their link with human resources issues.

Covers all aspects of the organisation and use of health research – including agenda setting, building health research capacity, and how research as a whole benefits decision makers, practitioners in health and related fields, and society at large.
Health Research Policy and Systems considers manuscripts that investigate the role of evidence-based health policy and health research systems in ensuring the efficient utilization and application of knowledge to improve health and health equity, especially in developing countries.

BMJ Global Health
An online journal from BMJ dedicated to publishing high-quality peer-reviewed content relevant to those involved in global health, including policy makers, funders, researchers, clinicians and frontline healthcare workers. The Journal covers all aspects of global health with particular interest in submissions that address the underfunded area of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Research across all study phases and designs is welcome, from study protocols to phase I trials to meta-analyses, including small or specialist studies. The editor welcomes opinionated discussions on controversial topics to stimulate debate.

Reproductive Health Matters
A peer-reviewed, international journal that explores emerging, neglected and marginalised issues across the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). It aims to publish original, relevant, and contemporary research, particularly from a feminist perspective, that can help inform the development of policies, laws and services to fulfil the rights and meet the sexual and reproductive health needs of people of all ages, gender identities and sexual orientations.
RHM publishes work that engages with fundamental dilemmas and debates in SRHR, highlighting multiple perspectives, acknowledging differences, and searching for new forms of consensus. RHM strongly encourages research that explores experiences, values, information and issues from the point of view of those whose lives are affected.
Key topics addressed in RHM include (but are not limited to) abortion, family planning, contraception, female genital mutilation, HIV and other STIs, human papillomavirus (HPV), maternal health, SRHR in humanitarian settings, gender-based violence, gender, sexuality and sexual rights. RHM is a multidisciplinary journal, welcoming submissions from a wide range of disciplines, including (but not limited to) the social sciences and humanities, behavioural science, public health, human rights and law, with an emphasis on qualitative approaches.
