An official publication of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE). The peer-reviewed journal publishes authoritative empirical research and commentary on critical health issues of interest to a broad range of professionals whose work involves understanding factors associated with health behavior and evidence-based social and behavioral strategies to improve health status.

The journal audience consists primarily of researchers and practitioners in health behavior and health education. Typical manuscripts published in the journal include empirical research using qualitative or quantitative methods; formative, process, and outcome evaluations; and literature reviews. Each manuscript submitted is expected to include implications for theory, policy, and/or practice in the discussion section. If a study assesses an intervention, a description of the intervention should be included in the methods section of the manuscript.

A multidisciplinary journal publishing original research and novel evidence on issues in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of policies for the food sector in developing, transition, and advanced economies.

The journal's main focus is on the economic and social aspect of food policy, prioritizing empirical studies informing international food policy debates. Provided that articles make a clear and explicit contribution to food policy debates of international interest, the journal considers papers from any of the social sciences. Papers from other disciplines (e.g., law) will be considered only if they provide a key policy contribution, and are written in a style which is accessible to a social science readership.

Addresses fundamental aspects of nutrition and its outcomes in women and their children, both in early and later life, and keeps its audience fully informed about new initiatives, the latest research findings and innovative ways of responding to changes in public attitudes and policy. Drawing from global sources, the Journal provides an invaluable source of up to date information for health professionals, academics and service users with interests in maternal and child nutrition.

Its scope includes pre-conception, antenatal and postnatal maternal nutrition, women's nutrition throughout their reproductive years, and fetal, neonatal, infant, child and adolescent nutrition and their effects throughout life. Topics covered include:

A practical quarterly journal which aims to advance the science of health disparities and health equity focusing on families and communities.  We recognize the lack of a singular definition of health disparities and health equity. For the purposes of this journal however, we utilize the definitions of health disparities and health equity offered in Healthy People 2020.

Family and Community Health publishes rigorous scholarly work from multiple disciplines using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods to highlight the full spectrum of family and community-focused research undertaken to reduce health disparities and to achieve health equity. Original theoretical, empirical and evidence-based articles, unsolicited state-of-the-science reviews, and solicited commentaries presenting innovative research about the relationship among families, communities, health disparities, and/or health equity.
