Population, Space and Place
Population, Space and Place aims to be the leading English-language research journal in the field of population geography and in geographical population studies. This implies all submitted papers should have a geographical or spatial component. It intends to:
- Inform population researchers of the best theoretical and empirical research on topics related to population, space and place
- Promote and further enhance the international standing of population research through the exchange of views on what constitutes best research practice
- Facilitate debate on issues of policy relevance and encouragesi the widest possible discussion and dissemination of the applications of research on populations
- Review and evaluate the significance of recent research findings and provide an international platform where researchers can discuss the future course of population research
- Provide a forum for population researchers to assess and apply philosophical and methodological developments in the social and behavioural sciences
- Encourage quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods approaches to population research

Population Studies: A Journal of Demography
For over half a century, Population Studies has reported significant advances in methods of demographic analysis, conceptual and mathematical theories of demographic dynamics and behaviour, and the use of these theories and methods to extend scientific knowledge and to inform policy and practice.
The Journal’s coverage of this field is comprehensive: applications in developed and developing countries; historical and contemporary studies; quantitative and qualitative studies; analytical essays and reviews. The subjects of papers range from classical concerns, such as the determinants and consequences of population change, to such topics as family demography and evolutionary and genetic influences on demographic behaviour. Often the Journal’s papers have had the effect of extending the boundaries of its field.

Population Research and Policy Review
Provides a broad, interdisciplinary coverage of population research, and offers an up to date and solid basis of information on the policy implications of recent research relevant to the causes and consequences of changing population size and composition. PRPR is the only demography journal that publishes work using ethnographic methods, comparative-historical methods, discourse analysis, and others.
Coverage includes demographic, economic, social, political and health research papers and related contributions which are based on either the direct scientific evaluation of particular policies or programs, or general contributions to advance knowledge that informs policy and program development. The journal publishes top quality material of interest to professionals working in the fields of population, and those fields which intersect and overlap with population studies.

Demographic Research
A free, online, open access, peer-reviewed journal of the population sciences published by the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany. The journal pioneers an expedited review system. Contributions can generally be published within one month after final acceptance. Demographic Research aims to publish top-quality demographic research and related material from the full range of disciplines that bear on demography, including the social sciences, the life sciences, mathematics and statistics, policy research, and research on the discipline itself.

Biodemography and Social Biology
The official journal of The Society for Biodemography and Social Biology, devoted to furthering the discussion, advancement, and dissemination of knowledge about biological and sociocultural forces affecting the structure and composition of human populations. This interdisciplinary publication features contributions from scholars in the fields of sociology, demography, psychology, anthropology, biology, genetics, criminal justice, and others. Original manuscripts that further knowledge in the area of social biology are welcome, along with brief reports, review articles, and book reviews.

Journal of Population Research
Publishes peer-reviewed papers on demography and population-related issues. International in scope, the journal presents original research papers, perspectives, review articles and shorter technical research notes. The range of coverage extends to substantive empirical analyses, theoretical works, applied research and contributions to methodology. The journal also offers special issues arising from conferences and other meetings.

European Journal of Population
Aims to improve understanding of population phenomena by giving priority to work that contributes to the development of theory and method, and that spans the boundaries between demography and such disciplines as sociology, anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, epidemiology and other sciences contributing to public health. Contributors come from around the world, and the coverage includes both European and non-European countries.
The journal addresses a broad public of researchers, policy makers and others concerned with population processes and their consequences.

African Population Studies / Etude de la Population Africaine
A bilingual journal [English and French] published twice a year in April and October by the Union for African Population Studies. It publishes dependable and timely information emanating from original research on African population, development and related fields. Papers are invited from researchers and others working in the population field. Submissions must be in English or French, and be original contributions, not under consideration for any other publication.
