Publishes high-quality original research, commentary, correspondence, and blogs on a subscription-free (open access) basis. All health-related subjects are considered: our focus is on disadvantaged populations, be they whole economic regions or marginalised groups within otherwise prosperous nations. The following topics are particularly welcomed: reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and child health; adolescent health; infectious diseases, including neglected tropical diseases; non-communicable diseases; mental health; the global health workforce; health systems; surgery; and health policy.

Preventing Chronic Diseases
A peer-reviewed electronic journal established by the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. The mission of PCD is to promote the open exchange of information and knowledge among researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and others who strive to improve the health of the public through chronic disease prevention. The vision of PCD is to be the premier forum where practitioners and policy makers inform research and researchers help practitioners and policy makers more effectively improve the health of the population.
Articles focus on preventing and controlling chronic diseases and conditions, promoting health, and examining the biological, behavioral, physical, and social determinants of health and their impact on quality of life, morbidity, and mortality across the life span.

British Medical Journal
The mission of the BMJ is to lead the debate on health, and to engage, inform, and stimulate doctors, researchers and other health professionals in ways that will improve outcomes for patients. We aim to help doctors to make better decisions.
To achieve these aims the journal publish original research articles, review and educational articles, news, letters, investigative journalism, and articles commenting on the clinical, scientific, social, political, and economic factors affecting health. The BMJ also aims to publish articles that advance debate on the science and art of patient partnership and coproduction of health.

International Journal of Health Policy and Management
A peer-reviewed journal which serves as an international and interdisciplinary setting for the dissemination of health policy and management research. It brings together individual specialties from different fields, notably health management/policy/economics, epidemiology, social/public policy, and philosophy into a dynamic academic mix.
IJHPM is intended to enhance communication among health system researchers, policy and decision makers, legislators, practitioners, educators, administrators, students, and other types of allied health professionals in the research and healthcare delivery systems. IJHPM publishes high quality editorials, perspectives, review articles, original research articles (both empirical and theoretical), policy briefs, commentaries, correspondences, hypotheses, and letters to editor. Geographical coverage including coverage of the poorest countries and low- and middle- income countries is of utmost importance in IJHPM.

Human Resources for Health
Covers all aspects concerning the information, planning, production, management and governance of human resources for health - particularly those of international relevance.
Human Resources for Health aims to disseminate research on health workforce policy, the health labour market, health workforce practice, development of knowledge tools and implementation mechanisms nationally and internationally; as well as specific features of the health workforce, such as the impact of management of health workers' performance and its link with health outcomes. The journal encourages debate on health sector reforms and their link with human resources issues.

Health Research Policy and Systems
Covers all aspects of the organisation and use of health research – including agenda setting, building health research capacity, and how research as a whole benefits decision makers, practitioners in health and related fields, and society at large.
Health Research Policy and Systems considers manuscripts that investigate the role of evidence-based health policy and health research systems in ensuring the efficient utilization and application of knowledge to improve health and health equity, especially in developing countries.

Global Health Governance
An open access, peer-reviewed, online journal that provides a platform for academics and practitioners to explore global health issues and their implications for governance and security at national and international levels.
The journal provides interdisciplinary analyses and a vigorous exchange of perspectives that are essential to the understanding of the nature of global health challenges and the strategies aimed at their solution. The Journal is particularly interested in addressing the political, economic, social, military and strategic aspects of global health issues.
The purview of Global Health Governance includes:
- Biological weapons and bioterrorism;
- New and re-emerging diseases and their global impacts;
- Demographic and epidemiological transitions and their implications on peace and stability;

A general health science journal addressing clinical medicine, public health and biomedical sciences. Rarely, it covers veterinary medicine.

A multi-disciplinary peer-reviewed journal concerned with all aspects of public health and medicine. The Journal is jointly sponsored by the Ethiopian Public Health Association and the Addis Ababa University. The language of the journal is English.

Revista Brasileira em Promoção da Saúde
The Revista Brasileira em Promoção da Saúde (Brazilian Journal in Health Promotion) was founded in 1984 and is based on Health Promotion, including public policies, healthy environments, community capacity building, individual and collective skills development, and reorientation of health services. It publishes articles with quantitative and qualitative approaches, research of descriptive nature, analytical, clinical, epidemiological and environmental studies, whose final objective is the dissemination of scientific knowledge in Health Promotion and in Public / Collective Health.
The journal publishes editorials, original articles, review articles, description of experiences or services, evaluation of health services and case reports.
